Chirrup: Another workshop. Another poem.

A few weeks ago, I was in a workshop where we were asked to write a poem (see it here, if you dare).

Well, Phil, who was one of the co-writers of that afore-mentioned poem, happened to be presenting at another workshop I was at (am I turning into a workshop – and Post-It – junkie?). His presentation set me off writing another poem.

I’d like to say it was Phil that inspired me, but I think it is also because his project is feeding into mine in many cool ways and the stuff he’s discovering and revealing resonate with me.

So, here’s the next poem. I post it here and not elsewhere because this is actually related to the fusion of mobile and Internet (the source of the inspiration), and is meant to be conceptual, as was the previous one.

Apologies to those who are not amused by my writing. 😛

Chirrup

Even minor moments

Are full of possibilities.

The signal bursts,

Calling from hiding,

Interruptive,

Compelling,

Propelling me onto another branch of my Flow.

‘This is good’,

And I follow the ripples of myself,

Telemetry coming in,

From farther and farther away.

I skip over a seam,

The mutual grooming,

Over my people-scape,

Done.

Previous gait,

Returned.

Download the Nokia N73 Time Zone Upgrader

Go figure. I had recently heard of the new Daylight Savings Time rules in the US (at least) and saw some discussion regarding Apple and such.

Well, at least my companie’s hands are sort of clean. 🙂 Here (link below) is a file to update the time zones on an N73. I guess there are other ones for other Nokia phones. At least the S60 ones.

This makes me proud.

I’m curious to know who else had been making such files available – Apple? Sony Ericsson? Microsoft? Please let me know.

The date of the “Daylight saving time” will be changing in certain countries during 2007. This application updates database in the device containing the daylight saving time dates. This will help e.g. in avoiding a conflict in calendar synchronisation if the device and PC are having a different time. Please restart your device after installation for the changes to take effect.

Update: While I was posting this, I was doing an SW Update check and, lo!, Apple is also offering a Time Zone update. Yeah!

Tired words: Seamless

Matt tapped my shoulder on this one. I have to concur.

Seamless – A penny for everytime some service provider uses this word. I’ve never really been much of a fan of this one. I think it’s mostly because this word sounds so much like ‘seemless’, which reminds me of something shameful, or ‘seem less’
rather than ‘seem more’. I don’t know if there’s a better alternative, but Matt once used the word ‘seamed’ – instead of having everything blur into everything else without seams, things stitch together in a nice way, but still with clear delineations.
