Article: Now, where did I take that photo? Ask the camera

Dan the man alerted me to this neat article.

Now, where did I take that photo? Ask the camera.

Because the digital camera records the date and time with each picture, as does the GPS with each track point, the two can be collated to produce GPS coordinates for each photo.
.

That would be a cool hack in Lifeblog – collating GPS info with info in Lifeblog. Of course, the best thing is if Lifeblog would do it already on the phone by itself. But, that’s in the future for now.

  1. Definately a cool idea!
Incidentally, I note that Lifeblog (on the phone), adds the country to the location. Is this simply set once, or would it change as you ‘roamed’ to other countries?

  2. Frankie,
The country info comes from the CellID, so a network must be live. Then, Lifblog just automatically puts in the country info. Cool when you travel a lot like me.

PS Then with Lifeblog PC, you can search for the country and see all the images from that country.
