An apology to the rest of the world

I am passing security control in a European airport on the way to the 'Land of the Free'. The level and number of security checks (what's with the shoe thing? sure pisses the heck out of me) and questions and probings I think are more extensive than travelling in the old Soviet Union (or I bet even current North Korea). </p> <p>I apologize to all friendly foreign nations and all innocent people everywhere that the US has extended their police-state paranoia far afield.</p> <p>I apologize that useless security checks arising from misguided policies and basic lack of common sense has delayed our flight.</p> <p>I apologize that our ego-driven government has failed to realize that they have offended most of their friends and have made the world a less secure and more unpleasant place.</p> <p>Way to go, Georgie Porgie and Cronies.” /></a><br /> I am passing security control in a European airport on the way to the ‘Land of the Free’.
