What the heck is a Multimedia Diary?

We call Lifeblog an Automatic Multimedia Diary. What do we mean by that?

  • Automatic = there’s not much for you to do
  • Multimedia = pictures, text, video
  • Diary = a daily record

In short, we mean that there’s not much for you to do to get the best out of it; just go about your normal day taking photos and videos with your phone, sending and receiving messages. Then, just press ‘synch’ and all the multimedia items are laid out in a diary format. Then, enjoy!

If you haven’t played with Lifeblog, then go download the software at www.nokia.com/lifeblog.

And here’s one little tip: you don’t need a phone to begin enjoying it.

New movie about a memory prothesis – Life Recording at it’s ultimate!

Finalcuteye
Just saw the trailer for the film ‘Final Cut’.

Freaky – makes me wonder where it might all end up.

The key plot contrivance in the film is the Zoë Chip which ‘is placed in your brain at birth to record your entire life.’ Robin Williams plays Alan Hackman (the pun must be intended), the best ‘cutter’ who edits the footage from the Chip into a ‘Rememory’, to be played at a funeral. In a way, the way he edits the memory bestows absolution on some of the more corrupt clients. But all that editing has messed him up and then (of course) something happens that leads him on a ‘high intensity search for truth and redemption.’

It will be an OK ending if he finds ‘truth and redemption’. But I always like evils twists or the beating up of the anti-hero – so here’s to hoping he just misses that happy ending.

WIll be really cool in any case, especially with Lifeblog a part of my life and thinking of the future of the automatic capture of life experiences.
